According to Article 29 of the UCEI Statute the Chief Rabbi, on the basis of the powers and responsibilities granted to him by law and Jewish tradition, in the exercise of his magisterial functions, jurisdiction over worship and religious services, promotes Jewish life in the Community with the support of the Board. It represents the ethical and religious reference of the Community and ensures respect for Jewish law and tradition in its activities. It guides and directs formal and informal Jewish education in school, out-of-school and in other community facilities.
